Ministry of Tourism Cabinet Office Library Automation

    Last Updated: 19 Apr 2016
The project develops an application especially for the library system in both Arabic and English to match the latest IT international standards.

    Goals:

§ Benefit from the Ministry of Tourism library books
§ Preserve all documents and books in an automated manner, through the use of proper application to easily find books
§ Make data accessible through research tools and support a formula matching with the Anglo-American bibliography

    Achievements:

The project required a thorough study to identify organizational chart and regulations to implant an updated library system for the benefit of the main library of the Ministry of Tourism. This is in addition to identifying a work cycle according to forms of implantation on the servers. Training programs, both theoretical and practical,  were then organized for the system technically and administratively. The system was running fully after a period of testing.

The  project is expected to be carried out in all libraries of the Ministry of Tourism, in view of the flexibility of the project which allows users to build a system according to each library’s needs, support the use of barcodes and manage the circulation of books among libraries through internet. This is in addition to making the system accessible to customers and library users online. The project is applicable nationwide.
