    Developing Notarization Offices-Phase III

    Last Updated: 02 Jul 2019
The project aims to automate the work system of the notarization offices through the use of ICTs. It was launched in 2002 in line with a cooperation protocol signed between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and the Ministry of Justice to implement a pilot project in four offices: Azbakeya, Ismailia, Qasr el Nile and Zaytoun.

In 2004, the project was inaugurated in Azbakeya Notarization Office and in Ismailia Notarization office in 2005. From 2006 to 2009, 50 notarization offices across the country were automated (25 offices in Cairo, 25 offices in the courts complex of each governorate). This is in addition to establishing a main information center at the Real Estate Publicity Department.

From 2009 to 2013, 50 offices were automated including the Personal Status Notarization Office (marriage of foreigners) and the Investment Notarization Office. Phase III started in 2013, targeting automating fifty more offices (all Cairo and Giza Notarization Offices).

The project provides many solutions for several problems among which are speeding up transactions and replacing manual journals with an automated system of record keeping. A number of 100 notarization offices have been automated at the Republic level, and the number of automated transactions totaled 17,942,864, and 30,393,233 citizens were served through this project.

The project aims to improve services, protect documents, improve the supervision and management system, provide training and transfer of expertise, automate the main offices in Cairo and Giza and develop the automated program of the notarization offices. This is in addition to Providing certain documentation services via mobile phones and establishing a citizen-service center.
