Egypt Partakes in ITU TDAG-20/3 Meeting

Egypt, represented by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), is participating in the Telecommunication Development Advisory Group (TDAG) third meeting for 2020 (TDAG-20/3), organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), online, on November 23.

TDAG reviews priorities, strategies, operations and financial matters of the ITU Telecommunication Development Sector (ITU-D). It meets once every year, in the intervals between the World Telecommunication Development Conferences (WTDCs) to advise the Director of the Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT) on the implementation of the WTDC Action Plan, including issues relating to the budget and the operational plan of the Sector.

TDAG-20/3 meeting is held to receive reports and updates from TDAG three Working Groups: the Working Group on WTDC Preparations (TDAG-WG-Prep), the Working Group on Strategic and Operational Plans (TDAG-WG-SOP), and the Working Group on WTDC Resolutions, Declaration and Thematic Priorities (TDAG-WG-RDTP).

The ITU was established in 1865. It is a specialized agency of the United Nations (UN), responsible for all matters related to ICTs, and is one of the oldest international organizations in operation.
