Egypt Partakes in Canada Arab Business Forum

Egypt, represented by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and the Egyptian Embassy in Canada, participated in Canada Arab Business Forum, held on November 24-25, online.

During the Digital Economy and Artificial Intelligence (AI) session, it was highlighted that the digital economy sector in Egypt is significantly growing and increasingly contributing to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). In addition, the National Strategy for AI was presented, as well as the progress that Egypt achieved in global rankings in this field, and the relevant areas of great priority to the Egyptian government, at both local and international levels.

During the Forum, Egypt’s distinct participation was underlined, represented in the ICT sector, digital transformation and AI, which is currently booming in Egypt, creating promising opportunities for cooperation between Egypt and Canada.

It was also highlighted that Canada occupies a special global position in AI and its applications in various areas of development. Its educational and research institutions are global leaders in this field. This reflects the significance of Egypt’s participation in the Forum, especially in light of the large presence of Canadian companies, investors, and representatives of the educational and governmental institutions that are interested to cooperate with Arab countries.

Canada Arab Business Forum is organized every year by Canada Arab Business Council (CABC). This year’s edition was attended by the Canadian Prime Minister, Ministers of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, a number of Canadian and Arab officials, and representatives of the business community and the private sector in Canada and Arab countries.
