The AI team intends to share its know-how and experience through the appropriate regional and international platforms to keep pace with the international digital evolution and to be one of the main spokespersons worldwide to bridge the gap between developed and developing countries.

- UNESCO
Egypt has been nominated as a member of the UNESCO Ad Hoc Expert Group (AHEG) on Ethics of AI. It is also nominated as a vice chairman for the same group.

Egypt hosted the virtual Regional Consultation on “Ethics of Artificial Intelligence” for the Arab States in collaboration with the UNESCO, on 6-7 August 2020.

- OECD
Egypt AI team members regularly attend the meetings of the Committee on Digital Economy Policy (CDEP) related to AI. Egypt has been nominated as a Member of the OECD Network of Experts on AI (ONE AI). ONE AI is an informal advisory group that provides expert input to the OECD analytical work on AI, identifying possible trends and topics.

- La Francophonie
Egypt has been nominated as an AI Expert to support the work of the Digitalization Group of the organization which confirms Egypt leadership in the region and helps to open new channels of cooperation and partnerships.

- African Union
Egypt has proposed the formation of an African Working Group on AI under the umbrella of the African Union with the aim of establishing a Unified AI Strategy for Africa, a framework for joint projects of common interest and a common framework for capacity building. Egypt is the chair of this group where the first meeting of the Group was held in December 2019.

- League of Arab States
Egypt has proposed the formation of an Arab Working Group on AI under the umbrella of the League of Arab States (LAS), with the aim of establishing guidelines for AI, common framework for joint projects, and a common framework for capacity building raising awareness of the pros and cons of AI. Egypt is the chair of this group.

- International Telecommunication Union:
Egypt is an active member in the different ITU activities related to AI, such as AI for Good and the different focus groups tackling AI related issues with the aim to increase Egypt’s visibility and position it as one of the leading countries in the region. Egypt has joined, as an AI expert, the Focus Group on Environmental Efficiency for Artificial Intelligence and other Emerging Technologies (FG-AI4EE).

- WIPO
Egypt AI Team members attend regularly the meetings of WIPO AI/Data and IP Policy.

- Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence
Egypt is an observer in two working groups of the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI): Working Group on Responsible AI and Working Group on Data Governance.
