Biography

Samah Aziz is the Director of the Central Department of International Relations, at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT).

Aziz has moved up to several executive and managerial positons at MCIT. Through her work at the IR Division, Aziz leads and mentors a team of professionals, providing all possible ways of raising their capacities and awareness to well represent Egypt in regional and international arenas. She has been participating in the overall strategic planning and management of the Division since 2007.

Aziz has been managing regional, bilateral and multilateral cooperation files. She has also represented the IR Division at national, regional and international events, and helped design several development and training programs at MCIT. She worked in coordinating successful projects implementation with government offices and civil organizations, and assisting in projects evaluation and impact assessment, as well.

Aziz has 20 years of experience in project and program management, integrated development and ICT policy issues in Egypt and Arab countries, and government rules and procedures for foreign and international cooperation. She held several positions in government bodies and NGOs, including the British Embassy in Oman, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Egypt, and others.

Aziz holds a BA in English literature from Cairo University. She obtained the Postgraduate and Post Professional Diploma in Project Management from Cambridge University, in 2005.
