Learn First, Pay Later

Within the framework of building Digital Egypt, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) is implementing several capacity-building initiatives and human development projects. The aim is to provide young people with traininag opportunities to enhance their employability, helping create a talent pool well-versed in ICT and build a knowledge-based society.

One of those initiatives is “Wazeefa Tech.” It is aimed at supporting the private sector and strengthening its role in designing and carrying out training programs funded by the Ministry. MCIT oversees the selection process, training and employment by partner companies.

Wazeefa Tech is implemented in collaboration with Nasser Social Bank (NSB), which funds companies wishing to join the initiative. NSB also grants interns loans that they can repay after completing the program and getting hired.

Trainees repay the loans from their salaries in installments over three years. Administrative expenses of 5.5% and default risks are covered by Tahya Misr Fund.

Industry Partners

Companies wishing to join the initiative should send proposed training tracks, including content, duration, training cost, and expected income for trainees.

A team from both the National Telecommunication Institute (NTI) and the Information Technology Institute (ITI) reviews the tracks details to make sure they meet the labor market needs. Companies can then open the call for applications.
