The Future Work is Digital (FWD) initiative targets training 100,000 young people on future skills and jobs. It aims to reinforce Egypt’s position on the global ICT map and place it among the top countries exporting digital services. It aims, in addition, to create a wide range of job opportunities for young Egyptians through qualifying them to master freelance digital jobs.
The free initiative was launched by MCIT through ITIDA, to train young people in advanced IT fields, through a virtual academy, implemented in partnership between the public and private sectors. The initiative is aimed at training 100,000 young people on web applications, data science and digital marketing, through a number of specialized training tracks, designed in collaboration with major technology companies and available on Udacity, a leading international platform in e-learning.
FWD aims to take in the largest possible number of applicants of different technical capacities, through offering four training levels: basic, professional, advanced, and outstanding, with 12 training tracks covering the technological skills in demand, both locally and globally. It also involves implementing several technology projects by each trainee, with experts reviewing and evaluating such projects. This is in addition to providing educational groups supervised by professional mentors to promote sharing knowledge among trainees, as well as showcasing success stories of freelancing and remote work.
