Bilateral Cooperation

Asian Bilateral Cooperation

Asia has become one of the world’s most advanced regions in modern technology. Many Asian countries attach very high priority to ICT, that they have gained a competitive edge over other countries.

Egypt has special ties with technologically-advanced Asian countries. Since Asian countries are the worlds’ technology titans, Egypt seeks to benefit from their expertise and competitive advantages in several areas, including digital transformation, capacity building, electronic manufacturing and others. This is in addition to emerging technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and how to use them to develop applied solutions to the national challenges in economic development, agriculture, health, education, Natural Language Processing (NLP) and others.

MCIT strives to benefit from the Asian experiences in capacity building, within the framework of its endeavor to build a new Egyptian citizen equipped with the necessary digital skills for the labor market.

At the postgraduate level, MCIT cooperates with top-notch Asian universities to carry out Digital Egypt Builders Initiative (DEBI) that enables top Egyptian students to obtain a master's degree in AI, IoT, cybersecurity, robotics and data science. In addition, MCIT collaborates with Asian countries in educating talented people and upskilling the Egyptian calibers working in the ICT sector, through providing advanced training programs in light of the cooperation protocols inked with these countries.

Egypt’s belief in the importance of cooperation with the Asian side is met with the keenness of many Asian countries to cooperate with Egypt, given the progress achieved in the Egyptian ICT sector over the past years, as well as Egypt's pivotal role in the region, as the heart of the Arab world and the gateway to Africa.
