The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is the government agency responsible for technical cooperation in Japan’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) programs. JICA aims to contribute to the promotion of international cooperation as well as the sound development of the Japanese and global economy by supporting the socioeconomic development, recovery or economic stability of developing regions.
ICT features heavily in JICA programs, which include the development of infrastructure, training, health and e-learning. The agency also supports small and medium enterprises, and governmental institutions that promote them, as part of its interest in developing the private sector.
JICA cooperates with MCIT through funding joint projects and various training programs in the field of information technology.
