The World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) is a multi-stakeholder process representing governments, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, the private sector and civil society.
The WSIS Forum is co-organized by ITU, UNESCO, UNDP and UNCTAD, in close collaboration with all WSIS Action Line Facilitators/Co-Facilitators.
It aims at building a collective information society where individuals and societies are empowered to use all their potential to achieve sustainable development and improve their quality of life.
Egypt has been an active participant in all WSIS forums and events, contributing effectively to the implementation of the summits’ action lines, as well as taking into consideration the linking of the summit actions with the SDGs.
