Mr Khaled Negm served as Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology from March 2015 to September 2015. He has more than 30 years of experience in the ICT sector with a focus on infrastructure designs and applications for Egypt, the Middle East and Africa.
In 1984, Negm joined IBM where he was responsible for developing technical support, networking and design services, disaster recovery and business continuity and resilience services. This is in addition to leading smarter cities applications in public utilities, energy, water and emergency management. He assumed a number of leading positions on both the local and regional levels. In 2012, he held the position of Smarter Cities ITS Leader for the Middle East and Africa (MEA) at IBM Energy, Transportation, Public Safety and Water. He was appointed as Chairman of Egypt National Post Organization (ENPO) in November 2014.
Negm has a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.), Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from Ain Shams University in 1983; a Diploma in Project Management from the American University in Cairo in 1992; and a Master of Engineering, ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) from Nile University in 2010.
