High Level Kenyan Delegation Targets Egypt


A high-level official Kenyan delegation is expected to visit Egypt from 26th – 27th January 2011. The visit comes within the framework of cooperation between the two African countries.

The visit aims mainly at getting acquainted with the Egyptian ICDL program, Technology Parks and the Egyptian e-government program in order to transfer the Egyptian experience to Kenya.

The delegation, lead by the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Information and Communication, Dr. Bitange Ndemo, is expected to meet Egyptian officials in the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), Egyptian Center for Documentation of Cultural and Natural Heritage (CultNat), Ministry of State for Administrative Development, Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) as well as other official bodies.

The visit will focus mainly on discussing the developments Egypt has achieved in the field of communications and information technology with special emphasis on the Egyptian ICDL Program, Technology Parks, and Egyptian E-government Portal.

During the last decade, Egypt has successfully built-up a strong ICT infrastructure used to establish the aspired information society. The Egyptian experience has become an ideal model for the African countries, setting an example for many African countries in the ICT sector.
