On the 7th of October, a delegation from the MCIT headed by Eng. Mohamed Abd Al-Rahim, the CEO of Telecom Egypt and Eng. Heba Saleh, ITI Acting Chairman visited Uganda to discuss various cooperation means between the two countries.
The focus of the visit was to extend internet cables for Uganda through Egypt and to initiate BPO Training program.
The visit lasted for two days during which the delegation met the MICT minister of Uganda, Hon. Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda and H.E. Sabry Magdy Sabry Egypt's Ambassador in Uganda.
Cooperation to support the establishment of communications infrastructure in Uganda with the help of Telecom Egypt was also announced.
The Egyptian mission studied with Ugandan officials the proposal for establishing new projects in Uganda depending on Egyptian expertise in outsourcing, call centers and developing communications networks infrastructure.
Such projects have a great role in leading Uganda to the technological renaissance, by taking advantage of the Egyptian experience and expertise, especially in establishing smart villages, call centers and outsourcing services.
