Egypt Partakes in 7th RCS 2018


Egypt, represented by the Egyptian Computer Emergency Response Team (EG-CERT), of the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA), will participate in the 7th Regional Cybersecurity Summit (RCS) 2018, organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Arab Regional Cybersecurity Centre (RCC), and hosted by Kuwait’s Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA), on October 21-22, in Kuwait.

The Summit aims to create shared learning and dialogue regarding cybersecurity challenges and issues, and facilitate the exchange of information, ideas, solutions, and emerging practices that could improve cybersecurity posture. This is in addition to identifying current priority areas in cybersecurity at the local, regional and international levels and exploring and highlighting new opportunities and controls within the security sector that enhance information security field.

The 7th edition will cover a range of topics, highlighting the current trends and future threats, which are affecting organizations and business effectiveness. It will provide participants with an excellent opportunity to network with peers, share divergent viewpoints and identify internationally renowned cyber security solutions that can be used to totally eradicate cyber-attacks.

The Summit will feature an array of presentations and interactive panel sessions from international and regional experts to address current challenges faced and come up with strategies to pave the way for a cyber-safe future.

The Egyptian Computer Emergency Readiness Team (EG-CERT) was established by the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) in April 2009. Staffed by a team of 16 professionals, EG-CERT provides 24-hour support to protect critical information infrastructure. The team provides support to entities across the ICT, banking and government sectors, helping them address cybersecurity threats including Denial of Service attacks (DoS).
