The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) announces the convening of a press conference about the Unified License for Telecom Services under the auspices of the Minister of Communications and Information Technology Atef Helmy on Wednesday April 2 at MCIT premises, Smart Village.
The Press conference will be held in the presence of the National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (NTRA) Chairman Hesham El-Alayly and the leaders of telecommunication operators.
Once the new license is activated, Telecom Egypt will offer high-quality mobile services in the most possible professional manner. This grants Telecom Egypt the opportunity to provide the full package of telecom services.
In December 2013, NTRA's BoD agreed to adopt the Unified license system as an optimal regulatory solution paving the way for the attainment of the growth and balance required for the telecom market in Egypt, owing to the urgent and pressing need for a strong infrastructure that enables the incumbent operators to provide added services to all the sectors operating in the State and Egyptian citizens.
NTRA decided then to refer the details of the unified license system to the Cabinet's Economic Committee to be submitted to the Cabinet for ratification and final approval, before announced to the public.
The Unified License is a fruitful result of all efforts of NTRA BoD, and Executive Committee throughout a year dedicated for the drafting and setup process of the new license, besides the close coordination with the mobile operators to solve pending issues and reach a clear vision for the sake of the ICT sector growth.
