Egypt Information and Communication Technology Trust Fund (ICT-TF), jointly established by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), holds the first meeting for partners for Nuba Development Using ICT Tools on Tuesday June 3 at MCIT premises. The meeting aims to exchange views with numerous development partners on the international level, the private sector and the civil society as well as societal development bodies in Egypt.
The meeting is to announce the launching of the implementation of the project and search for means and mechanisms of suggested cooperation between partners and concerned parties at the Nubian society.
These efforts are in line with MCIT strategic goals to develop the IT industry and activate the digital citizenship, in cooperation with civil society organizations and governmental bodies, towards a larger support for societal sustainable development and strengthening the national economy.
The project takes is executed in partnership with the Arab Gulf Program for Development (AGFUND) as part of the “ local communities empowerment” projects, especially marginalized communities.
This is to empower the Nuba community with a special focus on Nubian women, by means of illiteracy programs, improving education and health programs, services provided to SMEs, in addition to supporting local institutions and associations using ICT.
