ITIDA Launches Export IT Program

The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), affiliated to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), has launched Export IT program for the fifth consecutive year, with a budget of 40 million EGP.

Companies are invited to register under Export-IT Rebate Program 2014 till September 30.
The program allows Egyptian companies to receive direct cash rebate amounting to maximum of 10% to 20% of their value-added exports with a ceiling of USD 500,000 per company per year according to ITIDA regulations.

The rebate system has been restructured to serve the largest number of Egyptian companies according to their size; the larger rebate percentage is allocated to micro-size companies reaching 20% of the value-added exports, 15% for small companies, 12% for medium companies and 10% for large companies.

An additional 1- 3% rebate of the value-added exports is offered when the company’s exports overpass the limit accredited at the Export IT program database, with a minimum of 5%. The total rebate percentage is not to exceed 20%.

Among the main terms and conditions for applicants, we can list the following: a company’s main premises must be in Egypt and Egyptian ownership should exceed 50% among other requirements.

The program supports various ICT and IT-Enabled products and services among which are software products, IT training services, application development services, IT consultancy services, outsourcing services, as well as other ICT services subject to program’s terms and conditions.

Launched in 2010, Export IT program has provided rebate to 105 companies. Thanks to the program, ITIDA helped exports of Egyptian IT companies participating in the program to reach 2.3 billion EGP.
