SECC Holds Egypt IoT Forum First Steering Committee Meeting

The Software Engineering Competence Center (SECC) of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) organized the first meeting of the steering committee of Egypt Internet of Things (IoT) Forum on January 27.

The forum is line with SECC role to use best software applications to meet local market needs.

Under the slogan “Connected Egypt”, the IoT forum aims to explore latest practices and applications of this new technology, find solutions and discuss goals and opportunities for Egypt.

The forum also targets coordination between bodies of scientific research and industry represented in government and scientific entities, as well as local and international ICT companies to support research and development in the field.

Among committee members’ representatives who attended the meeting were ITIDA VP Hossam Osman, SECC R&D Manager Haitham Hamza.

This is in addition to a number of academia representatives from Cairo University, Alexandria University and Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology, as well as ICT companies like Mentor Graphics, Silicon Valley and Cisco were among the steering committee members.
IoT is a group of interconnected electronic devices that actively participate in daily life activities and commercial transactions. IoT new technology has many applications of which comes smart chips that allows companies to control their products quantity in storage, as well as tracking stolen products.
