SECC Launches SPI for SME Program 2015

The Software Engineering Competence Center (SECC) launched round 11 of the Software Process Improvement (SPI) for SMEs Program 2015 on March17, with 12 participating companies ranging from micro, small to medium sized companies.

Over the past nine years, SECC has been introducing its SPI for SMEs program that aims at helping Egyptian IT companies to achieve maturity and business success through improving software development and service delivery processes at a low cost, with minimal risk and highest flexibility.

The program is supported by the SPIG, an adaptable model of excellence in software development based on the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI), which encourages SMEs to follow a coherent process for software development.

SPIG comprises guidelines, procedures, and templates to facilitate software process improvement. It covers areas such as software development and management, service operation and management, configuration management, quality assurance and peer review. The 11-day training is presented by top SECC experts, and offers 12 consultation visits and final assessment over an eight-month period.
