The Egyptian Olympiad in Informatics (EOI) annual contest for the year 2007 is due to take place Wednesday, September 5th at Mubarak City for Scientific Research and Technology Applications, 6th of October City.
With the participation of 600 contestants from allover Egypt, the contest promotes IT usage in problem solving techniques among youth, encouraging young talents in IT, and bridging the gaps between the youth and experts in the IT field.
Contestants are required to solve a series of questions and problems using methodical thinking and basic computer algorithms to devise a suitable program. Problem solving techniques include problem definition and analysis, strategy selection and implementation, and finally solution validation.
The competition is held under the patronage of the Ministry of Communications in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and the Arab Academy for Science and Technology.
