The ICT for Micro, Small and Medium Sized Enterprises Development in Egypt (MSMEs) program—affiliated to Egypt ICT-Trust Fund—was certified as best practice by the Dubai International Award for Best Practices in the 10th Cycle in 2014 for its outstanding contribution towards improving the living environment.
Dubai International Award for Best Practices is organized by Dubai Municipality, Dubai-United Arab Emirates and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT).
The program is led by Egypt ICT-Trust Fund, jointly established by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in January 2002.
Launched in 2006, M/SMEs program provides training in IT and ICT for Business fields. The program has trained 150 youth with disabilities in the SMEs training.
It also entailed training for 1650 MSMEs in IT, business, Training of Trainers (ToT) for NGOs staff working in the field of SMEs. The training kit was sent to 320 MSMEs to cover planning and business administration, finance and accounting, sales, marketing and customer services, digital photography and digital video.
