ITIDA, Coordination Office of UAE - Funded Development Projects in Egypt Visit Training Centers

Within the framework of the Egyptian-Emirati “Training for Employment” project, the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) team along with a delegation of the Coordination Office of UAE-funded Development Projects in Egypt, visited two training centers for qualifying human calibers on May 26.

The first training center is responsible for training 1000 job seekers in outsourcing services and call centers. They receive training on languages such as English, German and French; e-commerce; telesales; as well as administrative skills. A training session is provided to 36 interns to train them on the use of the English language in call centers for technical support, customer services and introduction to Cisco networks.

The second training center focuses on Oracle programs where a training session is held to train  43 out of 500 trainees on technical and professional expertise. They receive international accredited certification to join renowned companies locally and internationally as consultants of financial software systems applications, a position that has recorded a high demand in the job market. Large companies and institutions in different sectors rely on financial software systems to automate their financial cycle and coordinate resources, information and activities.

The training courses are within the framework of the “Training for Employment” protocol to qualify 10 thousand job seekers in the communications and information technology sector. The protocol is implemented in 26 governorates throughout four phases to train and recruit 100 thousands in different sectors, thus meeting the demands of local and regional job markets. This comes in line with the ambitious Egyptian vision for IT industry 2020 to reach the digital economy and raise the level of interest in human development.

Training programs include data entry, e-commerce, telesales, administrative skills, computer and mobile maintenance, databases development and management, networks infrastructure and maintenance, information security, mobile applications, websites and integrated systems, software testing, Android operating systems, cloud computing, e-marketing, human resources and project management, technical training in information technology (IT).

Since the launch of the “Training for Employment” program, ITIDA contracted with 17 training service providers to train 6200 trainees provided that companies hire at least 75% of job seekers. Until present, 1285 candidates joined the training courses, of whom 533 graduated, while the rest are still receiving training.

ITIDA coordinates with the Industrial Training Council (ITC) to implement the program with the Emirati side given its large experience in training, qualifying calibers and hiring them in ICT global and local companies. ITIDA supports a number of specialized programs for employees in the ICT sector or students and fresh university graduates to improve their capabilities and qualifications and, therefore, work in the ICT and other sectors of the county.
