Egypt hosts the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) Business Forum 2019 on June 18, in Cairo, under the auspices of the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
It is organized by the UfM, in partnership with the Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and the Association of Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASCAME).
The Forum is attended by a number of ministers, senior government officials, business community representatives, regulators, trade negotiators, experts, representatives of the private sector, the civil society and international organizations.
It focuses on two trade issues of paramount importance to the economic integration and development in the Mediterranean region; namely market access and e-commerce.
It allows for an exchange between businesses, governments and international communities.
The UfM is an intergovernmental Euro-Mediterranean organization that brings together all 28 countries of the European Union and 15 countries of the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean(SEMED).
