Egypt, represented by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), is participating in the 79th session of the Committee on Digital Economy Policy (CDEP) of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), held on July 1-2, at the OECD Headquarters in Paris, France.
The Committee will address a bundle of topics, including the Going Digital project, the outcomes of the Going Digital Summit held on 11-12 March 2019, and AI Policy Observatory. This is in addition to discussing the activities of the period 2019-2020, the digital economy outlook, and the analytical report on AI. Participating delegations are expected to showcase AI activities in their countries.
The Committee will be updated on progress made regarding the adoption of the Council Recommendation on AI and the publication of the analytical report on Artificial Intelligence.
Egypt, through participating in this major event, aims to achieve maximum benefit in using AI, and hold a series of meetings and workshops with French leading companies in AI to promote economic growth through creating job opportunities and encouraging innovation.
MCIT participated in OECD Going Digital Summit and CDEP 78th Session on AI, held in March 2019, where the analytical report on AI was discussed with the aim to issue OECD Instrument on AI.
