PM Witnesses Signing Protocol between MCIT, MIIC


Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and the Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation (MIIC) to develop and modernize the integrated information systems at the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI).

The protocol is to implement President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and the Prime Minister’s instructions of developing and expanding investment and public free zones to attract more international and local investments.

The protocol stipulates the automation of free zones services, in Nasr City, Port Said and Alexandria, and developing an e-archive system for paper files. This is in addition to developing MIIC website to be a comprehensive e-portal for publishing the investment map, offering e-services for investors, and providing needed hardware and equipment for completing the comprehensive development system in investment and public free zones at GAFI.

The cooperation between the two ministries targets developing the technological investment areas, and automating the investor services center and its branches in different governorates, thus contributing to facilitating services for investors nationwide, and improving Egypt's position in the global reports indicators.

MCIT will hold a specialized training program for the IT personnel at MIIC. In addition, the two ministries will cooperate, during the next period, to carry out a number of joint projects, the most remarkable of which is the completion of automation of services provided to investors.

Moreover, the two ministries cooperate to foster young innovators, through Egypt Ventures and Fekretak Sherketak initiative, and joint projects of technological development of services provided to investors, within the State efforts to improve and create an enabling environment for business and investment.
