MCIT Partakes in Arab Security Conference 2019

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) are participating in the Arab Security Conference 2019, organized by the Arab Security Consultants (ASC), under the auspices of the Ministry of Military Production, the League of Arab States (LAS), the Egyptian Supreme Cybersecurity Council (ESCC) and the Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC), on September 22-23, in Cairo.

Held under the theme “Cybersecurity in the Age of Digital Transformation”, this annual conference, organized since 2017, aims to raise awareness about cybersecurity in the Arab world. It is attended by more than 500 participants from the operational, governmental, business and technical cybersecurity communities.

Representatives from MCIT and NTRA will deliver sessions titled “Regulatory Framework for Cybercrime and Data Protection” and “Building Resilient Financial Inclusion”.

The Egyptian Computer Emergency Readiness Team (EG-CERT) of NTRA is participating in the Arab Security Cyber Wargames (ASCWGS 2019) held during the Conference on September 22.

The Championship is an interactive cyber security challenge that immerses participants in a simulated cyber-attack scenario, such as gaining or preventing access to a computer system or exploiting and defending a vulnerability in a system or an application.

The Conference brings together cybersecurity experts, IT students, academic and researchers to keep them up to date with the latest cybersecurity trends, help them make new connections with professionals from around the world and experience unique opportunities to gain hands-on experience and invaluable knowledge in the dynamic fields of cybersecurity and information security.
