AAL Cup is ITIDA first all-Africa pitch competition. It invites thriving early-stage startups working in either gaming or application development, from 19 different African countries to present their innovative ideas and projects to regional and international investors and Venture Capitals (VCs).
The competition offers startups grants totaling $60,000 and opportunities to join business incubation and acceleration programs in Egypt and African countries.
AAL Cup is striving to set a global stage for thriving early-stage startups to present their innovative ideas and projects to hundreds of regional and international investors and Venture Capitals.
Applications are now open for startups in Egypt and Africa through the competition website: http://techleaders.eg/aal/competition/. Registration deadline is November 18th.
Startups who make it to the final stage will get to present their ideas and projects on December 7. Winners will be announced in conjunction with RiseUp summit, MENA largest annual entrepreneurship event at the American University in Cairo (AUC).
AAL Cup will help educate young African calibers and spur their innovation on the latest applications and games technology. It also helps create more jobs for African youth.
In addition to cash prizes, AAL provides winning startups the opportunity to join business acceleration program, as well as an exhibition space during RiseUp Summit. Startups will also pitch to a wide audience, as well as jury members of local and regional VCs and investors.
The competition is part of AAL presidential initiative implemented under the supervision of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT). AAL targets building the capacity of 10 thousand Egyptian and African learners in developing digital games and applications using state-of-the-art technology, and establishing 100 startups in this field.
It also aims to transform Egypt into an African startup hub by bringing together Africa’s best startups.
