The Egyptian Delegation in GITEX Dubai 2007, headed by Dr. Tarek Kamel, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, continued its active participation in the exhibition by signing joint cooperative agreements with renowned international companies and institutes.
An agreement with British Bank HSBC entails the establishment of a regional center in Egypt for technical support of the bank’s financial services in the field of Communications and Information Technology (CIT). The primary aim of the project is to export local services to regional and global multinationals. The project’s first phase, starts off by staffing 300 employees and is due to reach 800 during later phases of the project.
In addition, a joint agreement was inked with American Dell Computer Corporation to establish a technical support and call center in Egypt serving the company’s clients worldwide.
The Egyptian trade mission, considered to be the largest in 15 years, included 42 companies (22 participating and 20 visiting) working in the field of CIT. The location of Egypt's 348-meter pavilion this year was very eminent amongst giant CIT companies.
