Egypt Partakes in OIC-CERT Workshop on Digital Forensic

Egypt, represented by the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA), will participate in OIC-CERT Workshop on Digital Forensic, held by the Computer Emergency Readiness Team (CERT) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), in conjunction with CodeBali Conference and FIRST Technical Colloquium, on September 27 – 30, in Bali, Indonesia.

The agenda covers several sessions including the essentials of digital forensic; cybersecurity solution through government initiative, capacity building, critical infrastructure implementation and innovation; and commercial fraud trends analysis and best practices.

This is in addition to intrusion prevention system implementation, Japan Security Operation Center (JSOC) analysis techniques, how to learn from security trends in Japan and how to build Internet’s hospital.

OIC-CERT aims at strengthening the relationships amongst CERTs in the OIC member countries, encouraging experience and information sharing in ICT security, and preventing and reducing cyber-crimes.

This is in addition to promoting collaborative technology research, development and innovation in ICT security fields; promoting good practices and /or recommendation to help address legal and regulatory issues; and assisting member countries in establishing National CERTs. To date, 21 OIC countries are members at the OIC-CERT.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) (formerly Organization of the Islamic Conference) is the second largest inter-governmental organization after the United Nations which has membership of 57 states spread over four continents. The Organization is the collective voice of the Muslim world, ensuring to safeguard and protect the interests of the Muslim world in the spirit of promoting international peace and harmony among various people of the world. The Organization was established upon a decision of the historical summit which took place in Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco on 25 September 1969.
