MCIT Organizes Workshop on Creating Comprehensive Development e-Portals in Assiut, Kafr El Sheikh

The Community Knowledge Management Department of the Central Department for Community Development at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) is organizing a workshop on creating and setting up comprehensive development e-portals in Assiut and Kafr El Sheikh, in collaboration with working teams from the two governorates’ general bureaus.

This comes as part of the activities of the cooperation protocols signed between the Central Department for Community Development and Assiut and Kafr El Sheikh Governorates, on the ICT for Comprehensive Community Development (ICT4CCD) project. This also reflects MCIT keenness to support the state’s plans to achieve digital transformation and Egypt’s Vision 2030.

The workshop provides training on knowledge industry and websites optimization to align with online search engines, as well as adding knowledge content and technical features to the portals. This is in addition to hands-on training on adding content, creating sub-sites and linking them to each governorate’s e-portal.

On the last day, trainees get to learn the importance of posting regulations and policies, and how to develop posting and editing plans on e-portals and social media.

The workshop comes as an implementation of the objectives of the cooperation protocols signed with the two governorates, that aim to build innovation- and technology-based digital knowledge societies, in line with sustainable development requisites.

The workshop enables citizens in Assiut and Kafr El Sheikh to create and develop comprehensive development e-portals, using Kenanaonline community knowledge platform. Through the e-portals, detailed databases for the projects and initiatives carried out in both governorates can be created, as well as databases for the civil society organizations specializing in development. The portals also help coordinate between these organizations to facilitate access of citizens to the development services offered by each governorate.
