MCIT Organizes Qodwa-Tech AI Hackathon

The Central Department for Community Development at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), in collaboration with Microsoft, Care Egypt Foundation and Entreprenelle, is organizing “Qodwa-Tech Artificial Intelligence (AI) Hackathon: Reviving Culture and Heritage” on March 7-9, at the Greek Campus in Cairo.

The hackathon is organized as part of the activities of She Can 2020, a major entrepreneurial event in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, sponsored by the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) and the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC).

The hackathon is aimed at raising women and girls’ awareness of the importance of technology, and equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the market. Female participants of the hackathon get to receive training and mentoring in technology areas and entrepreneurship.

The event brings together a large number of innovators, entrepreneurs and technicians. It aims to support technology startups and help idea owners turn their ideas into projects, as well as developing solutions to promote the Egyptian culture and heritage.
