Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr. Tarek Kamel, along with a high-level official Egyptian delegation, is holding talks with the London financial community at a one-day Euromoney conference entitled Egypt: The Investors Conference due in London on March 19, 2008.
In addition to Dr. Kamel, the Egyptian official delegation also includes: Minister of Finance Dr. Youssif Botros Ghali, Minister of Finance Dr. Mahmoud Mohie Eddin and that of Transport Eng. Mohamed Lofti Mansour.
Dr. Kamel is expected to present the Egyptian successful model of Information and Communications Technology (ICT), the potential for this sector in the Egyptian market and the Government's role in supporting the foundation of an Information Society.
Besides the ICT development, other issues will be discussed during the one-day conference including: the Nile Stock Exchange (NILEX) of small and medium sized enterprises (SME)s, the public private-partnerships and the multi-asset class investment opportunities in Egypt.
NILEX aims to give SMEs a fresh platform to raise capital. It also eases some of the disclosure rules and lowers the paid-in capital requirement of the main exchange, making it easier for SMEs to list.
Egypt has seen a period of remarkable economic reform. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) recently issued a glowing report on the performance of the Egyptian economy in 2006/2007, predicting continued growth.
Euromoney is an annual international conference that touches on investment issues and investment opportunities allover the world with a special focus on portfolio and private equity investment in Egypt.
