Egypt Partakes in Organizing OECD Third PLG E-Meeting of PTPR of Egypt


Egypt, represented by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), participates in organizing the Third Peer Learning Group (PLG) E-Meeting of the Production Transformation Policy Review (PTPR) of Egypt, on September 10, online, within the framework of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Initiative on Global Value Chains (GVCs), Production Transformation and Development.
 
The meeting is co-organized in collaboration between OECD, MCIT, the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Industrial Modernisation Centre (IMC), in cooperation with the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), and with the support of the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ).
 
The meeting’s theme is “Accelerating the transition to Industry 4.0 in a post-COVID-19 landscape”. It will shed light on the efforts exerted by MCIT and its affiliated organizations in digital transformation and the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

OECD was established in 1961 and includes 34 Member States. It aims to assist its Member States to boost their economic growth, employment rates and the trading volume between Member and Non-Member States.
