MCIT Organizes EOI 2020 Qualifier

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), in collaboration with the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), is organizing the Egyptian Olympiad in Informatics (EOI) 2020 qualifier, on September 13-14. The EOI will be held on September 22-27, at AASTMT premises in Alexandria.

This comes within the framework of the cooperation protocol inked between MCIT and AASTMT for implementing training for the Olympiad in Informatics programs, at national, regional and international levels.

A large number of school students from different governorates applied to join the EOI, out of which, the best 300 were selected after passing several assessments.

During the qualifier, the top 100 students will be selected to compete in the EOI. This includes 60 of the new students selected to receive the grant, in addition to 40 of those who received the grant in previous years, as long as they still belong to the age group eligible for competing in the EOI.

The EOI was first held in 2003. A cooperation protocol was, later, inked between the Ministry of Education, MCIT and AASTMT to qualify young Egyptians in software and IT areas.
