ITIDA Incubates New Tech Startups


The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) has accepted new seven tech startups in the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC) Incubation Program (Start IT), winners of Start IT 28th round.

Startups include Analog Designer’s Toolbox (ADT), an electronic design automation tool for engineers, that addresses the shortcomings of previous and current market offerings and affects the way every analog IC designer works and every analog IC design course is taught.

DomDom is the first digital graphic design platform in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The platform offers an easy-to-use graphic design software, packed with huge stock of designs and photos for companies and professionals to easily create specialized graphic designs in a short time.

Vibes is a mobile application that enhances the tourist experience through storytelling. Tourists, through the app, scan or select what they see in the tourist attraction or historical place, and have its story narrated in any language of choice.

Hafs Quran is a website that guides and educates people on how they can recite the Quran and learn Arabic. The website serves as an online Quran and Arabic school that targets people in Europe and the U.S.

A-eye Tech is a computer vision solution for retail and banks to extract tons of analytics from CCTV cameras, using Artificial intelligence (AI) techniques and computer vision.

Avocato is a mobile application that helps citizens reach lawyers in different specialties and provides information on laws and legal procedures.
Shoppy App is a mobile application builder for e-commerce businesses, that helps create applications in no time and without coding skills.

Start IT is a quarterly nationwide business plan competition that targets entrepreneurs at the idea stage, with an ICT-related prototype or proof of concept, helping them turn their ideas into successful startups and thriving business.

The program helps develop the startup eco-system and foster entrepreneurship in the ICT sector, through helping young entrepreneurs and early stage startups overcome challenges.
Winners of the competition receive fully-funded services, including having their projects incubated for one year.

Start IT also offers cash fund, business consultancy services, mentorship, software and hardware tools, and go-to-market support. In addition, entrepreneurs are offered a working space with high-speed internet, and access to a prestigious network of entrepreneurs and seasoned industry leaders.

According to the Q1 2020 MENA Venture Investment Report by MAGNiTT, Egypt came in the first place in the number of startup deals in the MENA region, achieving 25% of the total deals in the first half of 2020, which amounted to nearly USD 140 million YTD.

The report also highlighted that Egypt and Saudi Arabia were the only two countries in the MENA region to see an increase in their share of total funding, with Egypt achieving a 7% increase during the first half of 2020.
Moreover, according to the 2020 Global Startup Ecosystem Report (GSER) by Startup Genome, Cairo came among the Top 10 Global Ecosystems with Affordable Talent.

How Egyptian startups have performed and thrived during the last period reflects the ability of the entrepreneurship ecosystem to overcome challenges, and augments Egypt's position as a promising regional hub for creativity, entrepreneurship and innovative technology solutions
