MCIT Organizes ‘Digital Tomorrow’ First Digital Transformation Workshop


The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) organized the first workshop on digital transformation, as part of Digital Tomorrow initiative, on January 21, under the auspices of the Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talat and the Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhy.
 
The workshops represent the first step of the implementation of Digital Tomorrow initiative. It was launched by MCIT, in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Microsoft and Care Egypt Foundation  (CEF) in mid-December 2020, in Port Said City, being the first digital governorate. The initiative will be implemented in all governorates consecutively.
 
Digital Tomorrow is a national initiative targeting building the digital capacities of young people nationwide. It aims to spread and promote digital literacy among 14-40 year old people, to develop their digital skills and help them keep up with the technological development, starting from building their digital literacy, to qualifying them to obtain accredited certifications and meet the demands of the labor market.
 
The initiative is part of Digital Egypt vision and the state’s concerted efforts to build the digital skills of the Egyptian citizen. The initiative also comes within the framework of Tawar w Ghayar (Develop and Change) project implemented by the Central Administration for Projects and Youth Training at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Institutional Development, Training and Human Capacity Building Sector at MCIT. The project aims to promote digital literacy and reach a safe interactive digital society.
 
The workshops target certified trainers at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, with the aim to enhance the digital knowledge and skills of the initiative's trainers and those charged with carrying out training courses and online sessions for target groups in youth centers, nationwide.
 
A number of workshops will be organized to all the initiative trainees, where they will be granted digital transformation certificates by Certiport international company through its agent in Egypt, Skills Plus, that is responsible for carrying out the workshops.
 
The workshops include several training tracks on the concepts and importance of digital transformation, digital citizen, information and communication management, information security and safety, Artificial Intelligence (AI), electronic payments, blockchain,  financial inclusion and electronic signature. This is in addition to introducing digital transformation applications and how to use them for a safe and effective use of the government digital service applications and platforms that the state institutions have recently made available for providing services electronically, such as Digital Egypt platform.
