MCIT Holds Workshop on Institutional Development at Cassation Court


The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has held a workshop on institutional development within the framework of Digital Egypt strategy, for a number of chancellors and staff of the Court of Cassation. This comes as part of Digital Egypt strategy and the state's efforts to achieve institutional development and digital transformation, as well as to develop the litigation system.
 
The workshop is part of MCIT efforts to build and develop the digital capacity of chancellors and employees of the Court of Cassation to prepare the Court for the digital transformation, in light of the protocol of cooperation between the Court and MCIT.
 
The workshop discussed the key concepts and indicators of Digital Egypt, and the state's efforts to build an interactive digital society and citizen. The initiatives and projects of institutional development and digital transformation of institutions and public services, the programs for building the Egyptian citizen and digital capacity were discussed during the workshop, as well.
 
Moreover, the major projects of institutional development and digital transformation were presented, including sustaining digital transformation in Port Said City; achieving institutional development and digital transformation at the General Authority for Healthcare; building digital capacity of the employees moving to the New Administrative Capital; integrating national data; and Digital Egypt’s justice project. This is in addition to creating information system and digital transformation units at ministries, governorate offices and general authorities to attain institutional development and digital transformation.
 
The workshop was held at the Court of Cassation and was attended by a number of chancellors and staff of the Court, and a number of officials and employees of the Institutional Development, Training and Human Capacity Building Sector at MCIT.
 
In December 2020, MCIT and the Court of Cassation signed a protocol of cooperation with the aim to develop the work system at the Court of Cassation through a new work model that promotes the use of electronic transactions and modern technology. The protocol also aims to support achieving prompt justice through implementing judicial rulings for criminal or civil cases, in collaboration with different agencies. This is in addition to documenting and preserving the Court’s heritage and make some of its services available online through Digital Egypt platform.
