The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has held a workshop on institutional development within the framework of Digital Egypt strategy, for the staff of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities. This comes as part of Digital Egypt strategy and the state's efforts to achieve institutional development and digital transformation, as well as to build and develop the digital capabilities of government employees.
The workshop is in light of the cooperation between the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and MCIT to introduce digital transformation and empowerment, make optimal use of information and data, and implement the vision of the state and its leadership for achieving the digital transformation, represented in building Digital Egypt.
The vision involves, not only digitizing governmental services, but also governing the ministries’ activities, improving their performance, and building the digital capabilities of staff at ministries and government agencies.
The workshop discussed major institutional development and digital transformation projects, including sustaining digital transformation in Port Said City; achieving institutional development and digital transformation at the General Authority for Healthcare; building the digital capabilities of the employees moving to the New Administrative Capital; integrating national data; and Digital Egypt’s justice project. This is in addition to creating information system and digital transformation units at ministries, governorates offices and general authorities, to attain the desired institutional development and digital transformation.
Moreover, Digital Egypt key concepts and indicators, and the state's efforts to build an interactive digital society and citizen were presented during the workshop. It also discussed the initiatives and projects for achieving institutional development and digital transformation at institutions and public services, capacity building programs and the programs for building the Egyptian citizen.
A number of employees at the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities who completed training programs for developing basic and advanced computer skills, and on the basics of digital transformation, organized under the supervision of the Institutional Development, Training and Human Capacity Building Sector at MCIT, were honored during the workshop.
