SECC Transfers its CMMI Expertise to the Saudi Market

Software Engineering Competence Center (SECC), an Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) affiliate, held a seminar on June 8, 2008 in Saudi Arabia that demonstrated the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI).

The seminar came as part of the cooperation agreement that SECC signed in the end of 2007 with the Saudi ARCOM to market its services in the kingdom.

The seminar presented to companies and business owners, especially those in the information and communications technology (ICT) field, the CMMI mechanism and how to apply it, its benefits and the entities that are likely to acquire it.

The meeting discussed three main tracks of: software development based on the CMMI criteria, how to put specifications for software programs according to specific development criteria at a low cost while maintaining the certification model as well as setting clear principles for assessing and accepting computer programs used inside an organization.

The seminar was held under the auspices of King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology in cooperation with ARACOM and Microsoft Saudi Arabia.
