Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) announced the launch of its capacity building program in cooperation with Atos Origin, an international IT service firm, to raise the global competitive advantage of 100 Egyptian IT companies.
The program comes as part of Egypt’s national strategy that aims at increasing Egypt's exports of IT products and services enabling Egyptian companies to compete worldwide.
Atos Origin will lead an international consortium composed of Hewitt Associates, Arthur D. Little, the Indian QAI as well as Community and Institutional Development (CID) to offer consulting services to the selected 100 companies.
The CEO of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA)Dr. Hazem Abdelazim said the three-year program reflects ITIDA's commitment towards building the capacities of Egyptian IT companies.
The selection of companies, he noted, is subject to certain criteria to be announced once set by the program's management. The selection terms and conditions, Abdelazim added, will then be examined by the committee in charge of the program implementation.
The committee will include representatives of all concerned parties from the ICT community to guarantee total transparency while choosing the companies, according to ITIDA Executive President.
ITIDA Deputy President Ms. Zeinab Zaki said the process of choosing a consulting company to implement the project was subject to international standards and criteria that Atos Origin has managed to meet. A technical and legal committee, she added, was formulated to conclude the agreement with Atos Origin. The format of the contract has been finalized to be singed by the two parties.
Zaki pointed out that the upcoming period will witness recognized activities by ITIDA to support and assist companies seeking to benefit from the agency's programs, incentives and initiatives.
