The National Academy of Information Technology for People with Disabilities (NAID) is organizing a webinar titled “Research and Development (R&D) in assistive technologies for people with visual impairment,” on March 9.
The webinar is one in a series of events organized as part of the awareness program on assistive technology that NAID launched to support and empower Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), under the theme “Ideas by exceptional abilities.”
The webinar is delivered by a group of distinguished speakers and experts. It targets developers, entrepreneurs and those who are interested in developing assistive technologies to help people with visual impairment, as well as different stakeholders.
The webinar will focus on technological aspects and provide channels of cooperation among developers and innovators in the field of assistive technology to help people with visual impairment. Examples of development in this regard will be presented, where the challenges facing researchers and developers concerning manufacturing and marketing will be discussed. In addition, a number of success stories in developing assistive technologies locally, helping empower people with visual impairment, will be highlighted during the webinar.
Established in 2018, NAID is an affiliated organization to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT). The Academy’s mandate is to empower PwDs and support their inclusion in the society.
