AI-Pro Training Program Kicks Off

The Artificial Intelligence Professional Training Program (AI-Pro) first intake has kicked off. It is a training grant provided by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), and carried out by the Information Technology Institute (ITI), in collaboration with the École Pour l'Informatique et les Techniques Avancées (EPITA).
The first intake includes 500 young people from different governorates. They will receive a nine-month training in Machine Learning (ML) and AI basic skills, with a focus on the practical aspect in areas such as digital image analysis, computer vision, Natural Language Processing (NLP) and data analysis applications.
A meeting was held between members of ITI and a group of participants from Cairo, at ITI premises. The meeting was joined by officials from EPITA, and other participants, who joined through videoconference from the training venues in Alexandria, Mansoura and Ismailia Governorates.
Around 7,000 people applied to join the program through its website. The first phase of assessments included measuring the applicants’ knowledge in mathematics, data science, programming and AI. The assessments were prepared by one of the top assessment and testing services companies, to identify the required set of skills in this specialty. Following that, online interviews were conducted with more than 1,500 applicants to measure their soft and English language skills.
The assessment final phase included conducting one-on-one interviews at ITI premises. 500 graduates from over 50 universities and educational institutions passed the final assessment.
AI-Pro is the first of its kind in Egypt, carried out by ITI capitalizing on a group of EPITA-certified trainers. EPITA learning methodology is based on equipping students with the fundamentals of engineering, and advanced skills in computer science and ICT.
