The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) has launched the Digital Transformation for Software Development (DX4SW) initiative through the Software Engineering Competence Center (SECC), targeting national companies specializing in software development.
The initiative is implemented in collaboration with the Chamber of Information Technology and Communications (CIT) and the Egyptian Information, Telecommunications, Electronics and Software Alliance (EITESAL).
The initiative aims to support the digital transformation in Egypt through helping software development companies achieve their digital strategies and business objectives efficiently. This is achieved through building the core capacity for software development and testing the related processes according to international standards and practices, such as CMMI, Agile, DevOps and TOGAF, using an innovative technology-enabled capability-based reference architecture that focuses on five main aspects: Performance and Outcome, Processes, People, Information Systems, and Technology.
The development process includes an initial capability assessment for the beneficiary companies, then offering a service roadmap to help the companies optimize their resources and meet the digital transformation global trends, leveraging SECC expertise in applying the international quality standards in the software industry.
The initiative comes within the protocols of cooperation that ITIDA signed with CIT and EITESAL. The aim is to spark the growth of the national IT industry and contribute to designing and carrying out development programs and initiatives to meet the industry’s needs.
Both CIT and EITESAL will subsidize their member companies to join the initiative according to their size, offering 80% to small enterprises, 70% to medium-sized, and 60% to large enterprises.
ITIDA has set the eligibility criteria for the initiative. The companies applying to join the initiative must have at least three years of work experience, be Egyptian companies specializing in ICT, be registered in ITIDA database, and be a member in the aforementioned NGOs.
