The National Academy of Information Technology for Persons with Disabilities (NAID) is organizing the Assistive Technologies (AT) Hackathon, on June 12-19, at both NAID premises in Smart Village and online.
The Hackathon targets ICT companies, Small- and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs), and people with a solid technical background in Internet of Things (IoT), enabling technologies, software development, embedded systems, modeling, digital fabrication or design thinking, nationwide. The aim is to develop assistive technologies or solutions to the challenges facing Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) and help make their lives simpler, more productive and safer.
The winners of the Hackathon will receive cash prizes of up to EGP 100,000.
Established in 2018, NAID is an affiliated organization to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT). NAID mandate is to empower PwDs and support their inclusion in the society.
