Egypt Wins Bronze at EGOI 2021


Egyptian student Roqaia Zaki has won a bronze medal at the 1st European Girls' Olympiad in Informatics (EGOI 2021), and become the first Egyptian girl to win at an international informatics competition.
 
It is worth mentioning that an Egyptian team of four girls participated in EGOI 2021, under the auspices of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT). EGOI 2021 was organized by the Swiss Olympiad in Informatics, on June 13 - 19, in Zurich, Switzerland, with participants from 43 countries.

EGOI is a new programming competition for girls that aims to provide a platform for young women to enjoy and deepen their interest in computer science. The main goals of EGOI is to help bridge the gender gap through encouraging young women to study or work in the field of computer sciences, create female role models and promote European cultural exchange.
