Egypt, represented by the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), is participating in Four Years From Now (4YFN) Connecting Startups international event. 4YFN is the world’s largest exhibition for startups’ innovations, bringing them together with investors and international companies to connect and launch new business ventures together.
4YFN is organized on the sidelines of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2021, organized by the Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA), on June 28- July 1, in Barcelona, Spain.
Capitalizing on the lively networking event, ITIDA joins the international gathering with sponsoring eight homegrown startups, as part of its mandates to support local enterprises and entrepreneurs, highlight Egypt’s robust and diverse startup ecosystem, and showcase how the country is fast becoming a regional hub for entrepreneurship and digital innovation.
The exhibition aims to bring about partnership and investment opportunities, in addition to opening up markets for the Egyptian startups and scale up their disruptive business models. The list of the exhibiting promising Egyptian startups include:
Cardoo, a fast-growing startup developing affordable smart devices to help youth enhance their day-to-day lives.
ElGameya, a rotating savings and credit association (ROSCA)- model-based mobile application that offers users a platform to digitize their private money cycles, or get matched to users with similar saving/lending capabilities in a public circle. ElGameya app also features a built-in marketplace enabling users to access exclusive discounted products as a cash-out option.
Adzily, a Digital out-of-home (DOOH) network targeting audience in hundreds of locations at the same time.
Paynas, a fintech startup with a mission to harness technology to make a difference to small companies through providing financial and non-financial benefits to their employees that unlock access to new and improved ways of saving, moving, and borrowing money. Backed by strategic alliances and partnerships with global players including Visa International and Banque Misr, Paynas is paving new roads to empower small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and the millions they employ.
Talents Arena, a platform that provides creative gigs and unlimited job opportunities, alongside modern personal financial solutions.
Webville, an Artificial Intelligence (AI) company focused on content and Computer Vision solutions. The company’s latest breakthrough is ARTVILLE, an AI studio for e-commerce content generation. The studio helps e-commerce companies automate their product photo-editing processes using Machine Learning and Computer Vision.
E-POD (Electronic Payment On Delivery), a specialized fintech mobile application offering a secure platform to shop and pay online, allowing SMEs to increase their sales by 25%.
WideBot, a business-to-business (B2B) Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform that empowers businesses to build smart, AI-enabled chatbots capable of speaking both formal and informal Middle Eastern languages, trained by millions of annotated data sets within 16 domains in 12 dialects.
All of the participating startups will have an opportunity to meet and connect with global and international talents, in addition to pitching and networking with top global Venture Capital (VC) firms.
ITIDA participation in 4YFN includes a 200-meter pavilion to facilitate the networking and communication of startups with major investors and international companies. In addition to organizing and managing the Egyptian pavilion, ITIDA will carry out a number of promotional activities, including organizing bilateral meetings between the eight Egyptian startups and investors and venture capital funds.
The 4YFN exhibition will feature hundreds of startups and established companies from across the globe. Additionally, the exhibition will incorporate a series of keynotes by influencers and pioneers, discussions among top experts of the industry, as well as insightful startup pitches.
