Egypt Post has held a high-level investment conference titled "Egypt invests in African postal sector", at the closure of the 27th Universal Postal Congress, held in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire on  August 9-28. The Conference was attended by the heads of the African postal organizations participating in the Congress.

The Conference addressed cooperation plans, including exchanging experiences with all African countries in light of Egypt Post's position as one of the world's leading postal organizations.

The Conference aimed to present Egypt Post's investment plans, including developing the African postal sector to serve as a government portal delivering different postal, financial, governmental, and societal services, and as a key element for deploying digital transformation and financial inclusion in Africa.

The Conference discussed the investment opportunities in e-commerce in Africa in light of Egypt Post's accession to the Ecom@Africa initiative in cooperation with the Universal Postal Union (UPU). The aim is to enable Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) to penetrate the global market through facilitating import and export procedures and stimulating e-commerce through African postal networks. This is in addition to Egypt's willingness to train young Africans on different systems through Egypt Post Regional Training Centre in Cairo.

Following the Conference, Egypt Post and Madagascar Post inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on promoting areas of training, transfer of expertise and e-commerce. The aim is to transfer Egypt Post's successful experience in developing infrastructure, implementing financial inclusion and digital transformation, and rendering e-commerce services.
