Egypt Partakes in ITU TDAG-WG-SOP Third Meeting


Egypt, represented by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), is participating in the third meeting of the Telecommunication Development Advisory Group (TDAG) Working Group on the Strategic and Operational Plans (TDAG-WG-SOP), organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), online, on October 4.

The goal of the meeting is to capture input from the TDAG-WG-SOP on the frameworks for the ITU Strategic Plan and the Addis Ababa Action Plan.

TDAG-WG-SOP and its terms of reference were approved during the TDAG virtual meeting held on June 2-5, 2020 (TDAG-20). The Working Group’s terms of reference comprise reviewing the status of implementation and impact of the Strategic Plan approved by the 2018 Plenipotentiary Conference and to prepare proposals for the draft new ITU-D contribution to the Strategic Plan for the next period (2024-2027). This is in addition to reviewing the status of implementation and impact of the Buenos Aires action plan and its links with the Operational Plan, and the status of implementation and impact of the four-year rolling Operational Plan, identifying areas of improvement, and developing recommendations for the Draft Operational Plan prior to consideration by Council.
 
Established in 1865, ITU is a specialized agency of the United Nations (UN). It is responsible for all matters related to ICTs, and is one of the oldest international organizations in operation.
