The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) is participating in the launch of the “Online pharmacogenomics and personalized medicine postgraduate program (OPPM),” under Erasmus+, the European Union (EU) programme for education, training, youth, and sport.
OPPM is one of the leading projects in e-learning and the first of its kind in the Middle East. The project is aimed at creating scientific e-content in a way that helps reach the highest possible number of pharmacists and doctors at home and abroad.
The project participants include MCIT, Alexandria University, Fayoum University, Nile University, Newcastle University in the UK, University of Oviedo in Spain, Kiel University (CAU) in Germany, Democritus University of Thrace in Greece, the American University of Beirut (AUB), Beirut Arab University (BAU), Children's Cancer Hospital Egypt 57357, and Al Alfi Foundation.
MCIT, represented by the E-Learning Competence Center (ELCC) of the Central Department for Digital Community Development, plays a key role in the project through training faculty members to produce interactive e-content, overseeing the e-content production and development process, and maintaining high quality by ensuring that the content meets the relevant international standards.
It is worth noting that MCIT, represented by the General Department of IT Tools Deployment of the Central Department for Digital Community Development, is a strategic partner in several EU projects, the objectives of which are in line with Egypt’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the medical field and scientific research.
